Store bought food or manufactured food are good for the beagle puppy but not always. Here’s a thing not all the brands are good for the puppy, in case of that you have to be very careful what you are feeding your puppy.

Here are some things that should be taken care of:

Good packaging doesn’t necessarily mean good food inside. They are

  • Real meat: Proteins are a great source to build the body especially in a growing phase like puppyhood. They like all kinds of meat like chicken, turkey, all red meat, tuna. In the packaging, there should be written chicken meat or chicken meal. That means it contains real meat and condensed meal which provide more meat for the puppy.
  • Oil: Select food with oil like sunflower oil, fish oil etc. oil will keep the fur smooth and coat shine brighter. They are also needed to get energy.
  • Fillers: Fillers have no nutritional value, but some companies use fillers to gain profit. In real it will bring no good to the food. It will fill the puppy’s stomach and it will crave for more food and even it will eat anything like its own poop. So try to find some food that says ‘no added fillers’.
  • Nutrition check: There should be a proper balanced nutrition. No generic fat should be there. There should be an ample amount of meat-based protein and fiber.
  • Fat level: Like humans, puppies need a handsome amount of good fat. Healthy fats are important for the energy level and necessary for proper development of many organs.
  • Anything containing chemical components: You have to strictly avoid store bought goods that have additives, preservatives, artificial flavor or color. This can be detrimental to the puppy because it’s still small.
